Alpha Domus Navigator Merlot Cabernet Blend 2019/20

The Alpha Domus Navigator offers soft and deep aromas of red fruits, cocoa, spice, and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with succulent flavors, making it a great pairing for beef, richly flavored dishes, and cheese.

Merlot 34.1%, Cabernet Franc 33.7%, Cabernet Sauvignon 26.3%, Malbec 3.1%, Petit Verdot 2.8%. Cellar up to 2029.

This is one of those Hawke's Bay reds that quietly punches above its price. The team at Alpha Domus pick the best barrels from their Bridge Pa vineyard, blend them, and the result is genuinely classy stuff. The 2020 is a Bordeaux-style blend led by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, full of plush red and black fruit with cocoa, spice and a whisper of cedar. Medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long, savoury finish. Made for roast beef, slow-cooked lamb or a wedge of hard cheese.
